Jex Wilson is a native of Kingsport, Tennessee having started his career at Ridgefields Country Club. The Donald Ross layout was also where his father
introduced him to the game at the age of six. Jex scored his first hole-in-one at age 10 and the great game had another disciple.
Jex competed in numerous junior tournaments and his high school career was highlighted by being selected captain of the Blair Academy Golf Team his junior and senior
years. From northwestern New Jersey to central Florida, Jex attended Rollins College making the traveling team as a freshman walk-on. Jex returned to his
native home and was asked to join the staff at his home club. Two years later, Jex was named Head Golf Professional becoming the youngest
professional to have that position in the history of the club.
During his twenty-four year tenure, Jex received numerous accolades including Tennessee
Section PGA Professional of the Year. In 1997, he became one of only 207 PGA Master Professionals out of an organization that numbers over 25,000. His
thesis titled; "The Swing Links: Let Your Short Strokes Build Your Golf Swing" was the birth of Jex's teaching philosophy. This philosophy has
evolved and continues to evolve through his thirst for knowledge.
Attending numerous national workshops, including six PGA Coaching and Teaching Summits, has allowed him to interact with the world's
finest instructors. Using these interactions, Jex developed and continues as the curator of The
V-I-P Golf Learning Experience. Jex is looking forward to helping you with your game and always has two goals in mind: to become a lifetime "golfing
friend" and have you get better at your first lesson.
