Misty Creek
Ann Moore, Director of Tennis Ann Moore is Misty Creek’s new Director of Tennis. Ann is certified by the United States Professional Tennis Association, P1, and is also certified by the United States Professional Tennis Registry. Ann taught full time in New York for 25 years and has since been teaching part time in Sarasota. She taught on Long Island, NY, indoors at Stony Brook Racket Club, and in the summers was Tennis Director at Three Village Tennis Club, Setauket, NY. Ann has extensive experience in the tennis field, running tennis programs, tournaments and playing competitive tennis in local, national and international tournaments. Since 2004, Ann has been Tournament Director for the Friendship Cup, which is held in Austria once a year, and competes in the European Championships.

Ann loves teaching and working with all levels. She is totally committed to their improvement and to getting them to understand the strokes and strategy of tennis.

Everyone comes in at different levels with different goals, and she gears her lessons to their goals. She loves to work with motivated students at any level. Anyone willing to work hard is guaranteed to improve their game.

Ann has taught several students in the Sarasota area who came as beginners and are now playing competitive tennis on teams. She also loves working with more advanced students, bringing their game to the next level. Ann has expertise in diagnosing swing flaws and giving concise input as to how to fix a problem.

Doubles strategy and match play situations are a specialty. Ann feels that doubles is a bit like chess, and very exciting when students start to see that light bulb moment. She works on getting students to understand and master topspin, underspin and all the specialty shots, and have fun at the same time!

Students who want to hit hard need to understand how to keep the ball on the court, and that is where spin enters into the picture. Ann thinks learning specialty shots like drop shots, drop volleys and even lobs is like working on your short game in golf, working on feel.
